Paterno's 400th win

He currently sits at 399 with the win over the wingheads last week. If a new coach were hired at the beginning of next season he would have to coach for 40 years and average 10 wins a year to reach 400.

Where does this feat set on the all-time sports accomplishments list?

Pretty impressive in my book. They were saying during Saturday's game their has been 800+ coaching changes since he became head coach at PSU. The way things are these days, we will never see another come close to him in terms of wins or years of service.

I agree with Basement. Nobody will sniff that number for a VERY long time.

Records are made to be broken. They once thought Ruth's record was unbreakable, Gehrig's record was unbreakable.

But seriously, no way this record gets broken. I think the free world will end before this record is broken. I think Kiffin is the youngest right now and he would have to average 10 wins a season until he was 75.

If the NCAA leaves him alone that might be possible.
