Brian Kelly to Notre Dame

What a shame this is going to be for UC. The second great coach they have lost in the last couple of years. The Yankees of college football just can't seem to buy a national championship but they are going to buy themselves a great coach.

can he turn things around?

I saw some where that he said he would walk to ND for the job if it was offered, And why not the money is to good not 2 go, look at Weis sucked at ND and still leaveing there with at lest 10 million in his pocket. ND problems are much deeper than the coach they have been falling for years now and they just are not going to get turned aroud in a week or a year or even 3 years.

At UC all Kelly has to do is win seven games and they are given a BCS Bowl. He himself has said this is the best recruiting tool in the country, no conference championship game, and to get there you would have to beat basically WVU, Pitt, and Louisville (teams that are traditional favorites for the conference). The facilities are improving, and with a team that now sells out Nippert, he could expect an increase of revenue. Go ahead an pass that up for a job at independent Notre Dame where you can go and talk about how great Rockne, Parseghian, Devine, and Holtz were, all the while coaching teams with talent that make you look like Faust or Weis.

Talk about money disparity. They had to buy Willingham out, he had signed an extension before they axed him. I read somewhere that they are still paying him. Weiss is owed SIX more years, they will have to pay all of that as well. On top of that, you know they are going to shell out Meyer money (4 mill per) to get a big name coach.
I don't know how a guy who has worked his way up through the ranks like Kelly could turn down 4 mill per year. No way Cincinnati can match that.

If he takes the job today, he's on the hot seat tommorow. Until they get off their high horse this is not a good job to have, besides the money of course. If he is officially offered, he's gone.

I think he will be offered, he is the hottest coach out there right now.
