Has any1 heard anything about his knee?how its doing and has he played any this year or is he still on the team or what..

I will check and see if I can get some up to date info on this. Jay was injured during spring and just didn't recover enough during the season. I was told by one of the coaches that he has a bright future at Ohio U. once he gets healthy. He was expected to challenge for a starting position this year. As far as I know he is still on the team and hopefully can get healthy during the offseason and get on the field next year.

Are medical redshirts more difficult to get than a redshirt? I know when Keith was on UC's team in 1997 he dressed every game and was the #2 (the #1 never went out and therefore he wasn't needed) then at the end of the year he was given a redshirt, even though he wasn't aware he would be redshirted. I thought that the player and coach have to apply to the NCAA for a medical. Regardless, Jay should get one and have an extra year as a Bobcat.
