With the expanded NCAA tournament and all the talk about the last four at large bids. How about taking the last four and making them play the play in games. A little reward for a team getting through their conference tournament. Old Dominion didn't work their butts off to win their tournament to play Wofford in Dayton for the opportunity to make it into the first round of the tournament to play OSU.
If Michigan St. and Alabama (for example) think they should get the invite, make them work through the tournament by playing the extra round.

That is, in fact what is happening...in 2 of the regions, there is a play-in game between 16-17 seeds with the winner playing the #1 seed in the opening round. In the other 2 regions, the play-in games will be between 12-13 seeds, with the winner playing either the 4 or 5 seed. Check out CBS sportsline's bracketology, it shows how the whole thing will look.
