Dyla to 5,000?

According to the stats that I have, Dyla has unofficially 4,583 rushing yards for his career. In the final two games, can he surpass the 5,000 yard rushing mark? He would need to average 209 yards in each game to make it there.

I don't think there's any doubt that he can gt to 5,000, given the remaining competition.

He could have went over 5,000 during last nights game if we wanted him to. Had 100 after about 3 carries. Up 42-0 after the first quarter. Second team came in for the second, and waterboys and a couple cheerleaders finished the second half. They shortened the second half to 8 minute quarters. I thought we were gonna score more than the 50/50 paid there for a while.

thats a joke. Trimble needs to go to another conference or an independant. Playing teams like belpre, fed, eastern, southern, miller, south gallia, 9 out of 10 times we will beat those teams by 35 points even in the same season when we get beat by 35 to nelsonville york. I think its pretty sad that we play some pathetic teams like this. Recrords dont mean anything to me when you get them against this type of competition.

Nobody hates the league we are in worse than me. As you all know my favorite subject to talk about is 1980's football. The ole glory days when men were men and sheep ran scared. That bein said we got hosed in 94 or whenever it was and there is basically nothing we can do about it now. An independant schedule won't work because you would always be scrambling to fill games and end up with a 7, 8 or 9 game schedule some years. Thats not fair to the kids they deserve to play 10 games. You would also end up spending a million dollars on busing going all across the state to try and get games. Not to mention your sports other than football.
Another league also doesn't work. Where would we go? MVL wouldn't touch us. Once again you don't want in a league to far a way and travel 2 hours by bus for a 7th grade volleyball game on a Tuesday night.
Our only recourse right now it to try and get Wahama scheduled week 10 so atleast we have a big game to look forward to at the end. We just have to make the best of it and keep supporting our kids.

We could at least try and go to the Ohio. Sure we would be the smallest school, but should we care. At least when we did win a title, it would stand for a little more.

Not trying to get off topic, but imagine if you guys played D4 Meigs, D4 Alexander, D4 Wellston, D3 Vinton County, and D2 Athens every year. Thats a boatload of points as compared to Eastern, Southern, Miller, Waterford, South Gallia, etc.

On topic now: Dyla is a great back. He's got great vision, has good cutting ability, and gives 2nd and 3rd efforts every play. Very deserving of the accolades he receives.

Exaclty, we obviously would not win the league as often as we do now, but we could still get our fair share and it would be something to be proud of. We used to play all of these teams before the split, so I am sure we could compete now.

I think we woudl do good in the ohio. It would be tough to beat athens and nelsonville but we can beat alex meigs vinton and wellston, maybe not every year but just as much as they would beat us.

I feel the same way fellas. May not be Ohio champs every year, but you'd almost always have a playoff birth. That's something to be proud of.

Depending on non-league you would be sniffin the playoffs at 5-5. It would take a lot. People in Trimble would have to want it first. Then you need permission from the league. Don't know how many votes you would get.

I don't see any problem finding a ton of people who would want it to happen, as that is all I've heard people complaining for 15 years. The problem would be finding someone that wanted it to happen that had some pull. It would be better competition, better crowds at games, and mean more when when ya win. Might even get ya ready for the playoffs a little.

Dyla had like 117 yards on 6 carries. He will not get to 5000 only because he won't get the carries. He will be resting early again this week and enjoying senior night.

Shame on phil for not letting tyla get the 5000 mark he could have easly got it.

My guess is that Phil was not even aware of the milestone. Even if he was when you are up 42-0 in the first quarter if he lets Dyla gain 300 yards he gets beat up for running the score up. I see your point I'm just sayin those decisions are not always easy. Dyla has had a great career to be proud of regardless.

I don't think personal milestones are really what is on the coaches mind during a game. Its not like he was close to anything. He needed over 500 yards in 2 games for crying out loud. I could see if he was within a hundred yards on something to maybe try and let him get it.

Ya never know about this coach. I am 99% sure he wasted a whole season trying to get a player a school record. I know sultan is gonna come on here and tell me how stupid i am but he is just trying to be politcally correct. Its time for a change in the tomcat dome.

Would absolutely love to see Trimble go to the Ohio division, but you know as soon we did, people would be saying that we're running from Wahama, which is ridiculous, but it would probably happen.

Run from them? Hell we should welcome them with open arms. It's about time we have some competition in the Hocking now. Sure I would like to see us in the Ohio also but if you move Wahama to week 10, the season gets alot more exciting.

lol heck could always do what trimble use to do play Alex and NY in the same season ...plus NY game would b like how it should towards end of the season where it belongs in my book its hard having trimble and NY first game of the season

Alex decided to drop us as soon as they beat us a couple times. I figured we would always play them. A good county game with a pretty good gate. They know they can't beat us on a consistent basis. Why else would they drop us. Don't say its cuz we are D VI. Didn't they play Miller last year?

I dont think so...i think last time they played was 2005
