Okay I know we don't probably have any dedicated SMU fans on here, but is this a testament to the power that the NCAA has? It took the Mustangs 25 years to get a bowl after receiving the "Death Penalty" from the NCAA. or does this mean that the NCAA as hard as they may try can only cripple, not kill a program?
By the way a little SMU trivia, who was the famous "Pony Express" backfield?

Pony Express was Eric Dickerson and Craig James. They sure were rolling before the death penalty and then they went into obscurity. Wasn't they in the old Southwest Conference with Texas and the boys?
It didn't hurt their comeback that they got June Jones.

It's ironic that I just read a book that had a chapter on the violations of the old Southwestern Conference
All Texas schools but one:Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, SMU, Houston, Baylor, Rice, Texas Tech and Arkansas
