Is Favre the best ever?

No NFL quarterback has ever started a playoff game over the age of 40.

In fact, very few quarterbacks have even been able to hang on to a roster spot over the age of 40. Lets take a look at this exclusive club.

Of course most of these guys didn't play much, if at all. Only 3 quarterbacks have seen significant NFL action over the age of 40. Warren Moon went 7-7 as a starter for the Seattle Seahawks in 1997. Vinny Testeverde fared no better after 40 than he did before it. That brings us to Favre. Favre has the Vikings ready to make a serious playoff run. Favre has a quarterback rating of 104.1 (Peyton Manning is currently 101.2) He has thrown 27 touchdowns to only 7 interceptions and will likely break the 4000 yard barrier. His legendary stats speak for themselves. The 68,000 passing yards, 491 TD passes and consecutive game streak. He is closing in on his 8th division title and has been to 4 NFC championship games with a Super Bowl win. He is unquestionably one of the toughest guys to ever suit up.

With absolutely no quarterback ever having success after the age of 40 I think his tremendous success this season begs one question, "If he gets the Vikes to the Super Bowl is he hands down the best ever?"

All I know is the Legend would never take himself out of a game if he had a chance to go undefeated.

No, im not the biggest Favre fan he kind of turned me away with all the retirement crap, but there is no denying his place in football and I feel he is one of the best of all time.
