Mock Draft

Anyone interested in doing a smack forum mock draft, or fantasy draft to pass the time? If so we will get her rolling when the Sultan comes back.

Anyone have any suggestions as too how we want to do it?

What kind of mock draft are we doing?

We can do an 8 or 10 team serpentine draft with the following roster template. Does anyone really want to draft kickers and defenses? We can also draw the picks for every round instead of serpentine or we can follow a different size team template too.

Proposal, let me know if its stupid or not.

Organize a draft of all time fantasy teams. Once the teams are completed without a kicker or defense PhatHead could tally the points. Of the players that are drafted you get their best season and the points would be tallied that way. Is this workable? It was just a thought.

Didn't intend to hose ya, thought you liked doin that stuff.

Everyone could score their own and then we could double check the winner's total if the idea itself is worthwhile.

It sounds interesting to me. I volunteer to tally scores and keep track of the draft.

I think that we need at least a couple more people. Maybe phinphan and mecum?

i know basement nation volunteered to tally points but we could assign each person one team to tally the points for, can't be your own team, that way you couldn't add points to you team to help them win. This would keep from one person having to tally all the points but if basement nation wants to do it he is more than welcome......Once we draft a player do we get to pick which of his seasons we use?

That's fine but I know I wouldn't tally points for my own team let alone someone else's.

I don'r have a problem with tallying everyone's scores. I can't see it taking all that long. I have already found a website to get all the info. It's not like I am gonna cheat u guys. It's just for fun and there is no money on the line anyway, of course the sultan could always make it a hall of fame spot?


So, do we just pick a player and what year of their career we are using? Can a player be picked twice as long as it's a different year? Can he be picked by the same person twice? Maybe we should limit each player to ony being used once. Just trying to get all the parameters figured out. This is sounding really cool to me. Wonder if anyone has done this before?

In my opinion, I think that a player should only be drafted 1 time. We would only need a starting lineup too; we don't need a whole team. We could include PK and DEF then.

That sounds good to me. Now we need a draft order.

RFFL scoring system. When you draft a guy you automatically get his best season and once a player is drafted he is off the board.

How do we decide draft order and do we serpentine it?

Looks like we are going to roll with 6, I think that will be fine.

I think that when you draft a guy that you have to pick what year you want. That way there isn't any argument about which is his best year and it falls on the draftee's shoulders to pick.

Serpentine would be the easiest to do, because we would only have to pick one round.

Defensive scoring may have to be altered a little. Could be tough finding box scores for some teams.

Draft in the order of how we finished in RFFL with rock added in there somewhere. We could go with the worst finisher from last season going first or the other way around. We could go with most points or least points go first. Just some suggestions.

I think we are doing a pretty good job of hashing out the details. Are we sure we want to include defenses? I think it would be better I'm just wandering if we can find all the stats.

Maybe we could have a quick meeting on Sunday to draw for draft order. As long as 3 or 4 of us were there it would be fair.
